Poll: Yearly Pitt Non-Conference Opponent You’d Like to See on the Schedule?

Published

on

Pitt and West Virginia announced yesterday that their Backyard Brawl basketball rivalry would be extended for two years and will go until at least the 2023 season.

Committing to play the Mountaineers long-term is good for local basketball fans because of the long history between the two programs. This game is good for Pitt because it adds a quality opponent to their non-conference schedule.

A portion of the Pitt fanbase would like to see more quality teams added to the Panthers non-conference slate. Our PSN Poll Question is, it you could pick another team (aside from Duquesne and/or Robert Morris) that Pitt would play on a yearly basis, who would it be?

Which Non-Conference Team Should Pitt Basketball Add to its Yearly Schedule?

Anyone but PS & WV.

I’m surprised by the percentage of PSU votes. IMO, that does not provide quality basketball year in and year out. I would much rather revive an old Big East rivalry with UConn, Nova, or GTown. Aside from better basketball, those matchups would reverberate with both fan bases.

We get many recruits from the State College area? Ha ha.
Philly, D.C., Connecticut, yeah.

Not PSU. Should be in a area PITT recruits in or would like to strengthen it’s recruiting.
