PSN Poll Question: Who Will Land 4-Star DE/LB Naquan Brown?

A potentially huge piece of Pitt’s Class of 2021 Recruiting Class will be unveiling his decision.

Four-star defensive end/linebacker Naquan Brown is scheduled to announce his college decision tomorrow evening and Pitt is a possibility. The elite pass-rusher has narrowed his long list of offers down to six teams and will choose between Pitt, LSU, Virginia Tech, Miami, Tennessee and Penn State.

For the last year, Chris Beatty has led the recruiting efforts on Brown and has been able to create a strong bond with the Virginia native. It also doesn’t hurt Pitt’s cause that they’ve already landed Brown’s teammate, three-star wide receiver Myles Alston.

Brown’s strength is getting after the opposing quarterback and the Pitt staff is no doubt reminding him of the success of being able to do that. Last season, the Pitt defense tied for first in the country in sacks per game (3.92) and second in total sacks (51). With the talent that’s returning this season, they’re expected to repeat or improve on that performance from 2019.

Despite those selling points, Pitt is competing against the defending national champion (LSU), the hometown school (Virginia Tech) and programs like Penn State, Miami and Tennessee to land Brown.

In other words, it won’t be easy but they have a shot.
