Decision Day for 2021 Baldwin DT Dorien Ford

The next WPIAL Class of 2021 Power Five recruit will make his college decision known later this evening.

Baldwin three-star defensive tackle Dorien Ford will make his announcement Thursday night at 7 p.m. following his team’s practice.

Ford (6-foot-4, 290 pounds) has racked up over 20 offers including ones from Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Minnesota, Syracuse, Temple, Texas A&M, Central Florida and Virginia Tech.

Ford told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will be deciding tonight between Michigan, Penn State, Pitt and West Virginia. Michigan is the only one of those schools he’s never personally visited. Ford has made seven unofficial visits to Happy Valley and a number of stops to either Pitt practices or in person for games.

Pitt is hoping to add Ford to their 2021 recruiting class and pair him with fellow local standouts Central Catholic four-star defensive tackle Elliot Donald and West Mifflin 4-star defensive end Nahki Johnson. WPIAL area recruiter Terry Smith has led the recruitment of Ford for Penn State, who are looking to add their first defensive tackle recruit for this year’s class. West Virginia has received a 2021 commitment from junior college defensive tackle Nijel McGriff (Northwest Mississippi Community College).
