Beyond the Box Score: What Do Stats Say about Joey Yellen’s Debut?

Joey Yellen made his Pitt debut as a starting quarterback on Saturday, playing all but a few series in the Panthers’ loss to Miami while filling in for injured starter Kenny Pickett.

Yellen’s performance drew praise from Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi after the game, who lamented the Panthers’ toothless rushing attack and a number of drops form Yellen’s receivers as limiting factors in the offense.

Of course, both of those have been season-long issues for the Panthers, so compared to the performance of the far more established Pickett, how exactly did Yellen stack up?
