RMU Announces 2020-21 Schedule, Plans to Host Fans at UPMC Events Center

Robert Morris has announced its full 2020-21 men’s basketball schedule, after the Horizon League announced the conference games earlier in the day on Wednesday.

The Colonials will begin their 2020-21 season with a home game against Point Park on Nov. 25 and also host Florida Gulf Coast on Dec. 2 in non-conference action.

RMU will visit Central Michigan on Nov. 28, St. Francis (Pa.) on Dec. 5 and West Virginia on Dec. 9 before beginning league play on Dec. 19-20 with a pair of home games against Cleveland State.

“We’re excited about the schedule for the 2020-21 season,” head coach Andy Toole said in a press release. “I know our student-athletes can’t wait to go out and compete against quality non-conference opponents in preparation for our first season in the Horizon League. It’s a challenging schedule, and I’m looking forward to watching our team develop.”

RMU plans to host a limited number of fans at UPMC Events Center for non-conference games this season. Under current guidance from Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and the Pa. Health Department, the Colonials could host 600 fans, or 15% of capacity in the 4,000-seat arena. Because of that, ticket sales for the 2020-21 will sold to RMU season-ticket holders only.

The Horizon League has announced that all conference games played in the month of December will be played without fans, based on a combination of COVID-19 safety factors and competitive fairness.
