PSN Poll Question: Should Notre Dame Have To Join The ACC?

Published

on

The most newsworthy item from the Monday Pat Narduzzi press conference had nothing to do with Pitt football.

Narduzzi made headlines by saying that Notre Dame football should join the ACC as a full member and if not, the member ACC schools shouldn’t continue playing them in non-conference games.

Notre Dame has been a longtime non-conference opponent of the Panthers and helped to fill Heinz Field when they play in Pittsburgh. While other Notre Dame athletic programs play in the ACC, the football program has declined the invitation and instead chooses to play as an Independent.

Our PSN Poll question is do you agree with Narduzzi or do you disagree because of the many benefits of playing the Fighting Irish.

Should Notre Dame be allowed to go back to its partial football schedule with the ACC?

They should have been forced to join as a permanent member before the start of this season. You’re in, or you’re out for good. There are no other acceptable responses.

I think they would just find another conference to get 5 games in. They would lose ACC basketball, but all they care about it football.

Listened to “The Fan” this morning…laughing at Narduzzi’s comments while saying that ND doesn’t need the ACC. Sorry, but the ACC doesn’t need ND either. Does anyone believe that the conference will be in trouble without the Fighting Irish. Swofford should have never let them in the ACC for this one season.

I’m in agreement with the coach .. you either join or go find other institutions to schedule and play games.. I also feel that if Mr. Sworford and the higher ups of the ACC still went with the decision to let Notre Dame play one season without joining the conference then those schools that are in the Conference should demand monetary compensation for the lost revenue that could’ve gone to them and if not the ACC wanted to do that, then those schools should be able to leave the Conference with no buyout penalty…As the saying goes …. you chose… Read more »
