Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi and his wife, Donna, made a donation of six figures to Pitt’s football championship fund, Pitt Football announced Tuesday morning. This donation was gifted on the university’s Day of Giving.
According to the program, the donation will go towards ‘student-athlete development, facility improvement, technology and recruiting’.
Narduzzi talked about what the donation meant to him. “This gift is an expression of our thankfulness for the people of Pitt,” Narduzzi said, “especially the student-athletes we get to work with each day. Our responsibility is to give them the finest experiences possible—academically, athletically and personally. Donna and I feel truly honored and fortunate to be able to provide support for that mission at Pitt.”
Pitt athletic director Heather Lyke also commented on the Narduzzi’s generous gift, saying it was a ‘wonderful reflection of their commitment to our student-athletes’.
In early May of 2020, Narduzzi, along with Lyke, men’s basketball coach Jeff Capel and women’s basketball coach Lance White, pitched in for an overall $500,000 donation to Pitt’s Center for Vaccine Research in search for a COVID vaccine.
