Last year: Started nine games of 11 at the Star outside linebacker position in his first season as a consistent starter, despite plenty of playing time earlier in his career. Missed three games with an undisclosed ailment early in the season.
Stats: Recorded 53 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 2020. The 53 tackles were third on the Panthers and the 4.5 sacks tied for third on the team and best amongst the Pitt linebackers.
Camp outlook: Pitt lost a lot of talent off the edge in Patrick Jones II and Rashad Weaver to the draft, and with turnover at end, they will look to Bright and the more-experienced linebacker corps to help make up that production. Bright, Phil Campbell III, Wendell Davis, SirVocea Dennis and Chase Pine have all started in the past and seventh-year collegiate John Petrishen should provide an impact as well.
Projected role: Bright is a near-lock to be the starter at the Star outside linebacker spot.
Accolades, Highlights: Earned ACC Linebacker of the Week last season against Syracuse after posting 10 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack assist and a forced fumble.
