on

All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.

50 • Dayon Hayes, sophomore defensive lineman

Last Year: Hayes, a 6-foot-3, 265 pound Pittsburgh native, played in five games as a true freshman.

Stats: He recorded three tackles in 2020, including 2.5 sacks.

Camp outlook: Hayes made the most of limited playing time in his first year, and now has a chance to develop into the next stalwart on Pitt’s defensive line.

Projected role: With Patrick Jones II and Rashad Weaver gone for the NFL, there will be an opportunity for Hayes to step into a rotational role this season.

Accolades, highlights: A four-star recruit out of Westinghouse in Homewood, Rivals rated Hayes the No. 3 prospect in Pennsylvania following his 23.5 sack senior campaign.
