HUB Football is an organization that has helped football free agents earn spots on NFL rosters since 2019. On Thursday, HUB released their final roster for this Sunday’s camp, and two former Pitt Panthers made the cut.
Colin Jonov, who played for Pitt in 2018, and James Folston Jr., who played for Pitt from 2014-18, were each selected to the roster.
Jonov, a Franklin Regional alum, played at Bucknell from 2014-17 before joining the Panthers a a graduate transfer in 2018. He played defensive back at Pitt and recorded two tackles on special teams, but is trying to earn a spot at the next level as a wide receiver. Jonov was invited to the Buffalo Bills rookie camp in 2019, but did not make the team.
Folston, who will be competing as a linebacker, played defensive end at Pitt and tallied 47 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 43 career games with the Panthers. He spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans in 2019, played for the Dallas Renegades of the XFL and with the Jousters and Aviators of The Spring League in 2020, and was with the Edmonton Elks of the CFL for training camp this year.
The HUB Football website states that it “is the first pro football audition product designed specifically to help propel aspiring professional football players toward their next professional football destination.”
