Following his breakout freshman season, Pitt wide receiver Jordan Addison is no longer an unknown commodity and stopping him will be a focal point for opposing defenses.
Addison’s skill level was recognized on Thursday as he was named to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the most outstanding receiver in college football.
Last season, the former 4-star recruit out of Maryland led the Pitt team in catches with 60, receiving yards with 666 and receiving touchdowns with 4. After leading all freshman wide receivers in catches per game (6) and total catches (60), Addison finished second for ACC Rookie of the Year and was named a Freshman All-American by Rivals, 247Sports and The Athletic.
Addison became the first Pitt freshman to lead the team in receiving yards since Tyler Boyd did so back in 2013.
Two former Pitt receivers have won the Biletnikoff Award- Antonio Bryant in 2000 and Larry Fitzgerald in 2003.
The winner of this award will be announced during the ESPN College Football Awards Show on December 9.
