on

All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.

52 • Nahki Johnson, freshman defensive end

Last year: Was injured for his senior season at West Mifflin after committing to Pitt during his junior year.

Stats: Racked up eight sacks and four forced fumbles in his junior year of high school.

Camp outlook: As a true freshman, Johnson joins a deep crew at defensive end, with talented playmakers in Deslin Alexandre, John Morgan III, and Haba Baldonado. Johnson had two tackles, including a tackle for loss, in Pitt’s spring game.

Projected role: Johnson, who was a four-star recruit in high school, would be a wise player to redshirt with the amount of talent at the position.

Accolades, Highlights: Named the Big Eight Defensive Player of the Year, ranked as the number seven prospect in Pennsylvania and the number 7 weakside defensive end prospect in the nation by Rivals coming out of high school.
