Anthony Speca and Quinton Martin Named to MaxPreps 2024 All-American Team

Two of the WPIAL’s most talented underclassmen have received some national recognition.

Central Catholic inside linebacker Anthony Speca and Belle Vernon athlete Quinton Martin were named on Wednesday to MaxPreps Preseason Class of 2024 All-American Team.

Both players received major Power Five offers during their freshman seasons. Speca (6-foot-3, 220 pounds) currently holds offers from Pitt, Penn State, Notre Dame, West Virginia and Purdue, while Martin has been offered by Pitt, Penn State, Maryland, Rutgers and Virginia Tech. Pat Narduzzi and Pitt were the first program to offer both of these players.

Despite playing both sides of the ball, Speca is projected to play inside linebacker in college and on course to be one of the top linebackers in the country and to be a national recruit.

Like Speca, Martin (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) will also be a player in demand but because of his athleticism and growing frame, his future position in college is yet to be determined. Last season for Belle Vernon, Martin played running back, wide receiver and defensive back. While at running back, Martin average over nine yards per carry.

Martin and Speca are just two of the talented players from Western Pennsylvania that will be receiving national recruiting attention. The Class of 2023 is filled with players such as Laurel Highlands 4-star athlete Rodney Gallagher, Brashear 4-star linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson and cornerback Lamont Payne.
