Pitt Lands Commitment From 2022 4-Star Offensive Tackle Ryan Baer

Persistency and hard work paid off for the Pitt football coaches as they land their biggest recruit in their Class of 2022.

Ohio 4-star offensive tackle Ryan Baer announced on Thursday that he’s given a commitment to the Pitt Panthers. Baer becomes the Panthers 13th verbal commitment and their first 4-star recruit. The 6’8″, 330 pound offensive tackle becomes the third offensive lineman (Isaiah Montgomery and Ja’Kavion Nonar) to commit to Pitt this recruiting season.

This was an impressive recruiting effort by the Pitt staff, led by Archie Collins and Dave Borbely, because Pitt wasn’t one of the four official visits for Baer. The native of Eastlake, Ohio visited Michigan State, Kentucky, Virginia and Illinois during June. It’s not very often that a player doesn’t commit to a program that he made official visits to.

Baer joins the list of young, highly recruited offensive lineman that Pitt has landed over the last couple recruiting classes- Terrence Enos, Terrence Moore, Branson Taylor and Michael Statham.

Considering the limited number of scholarships they have for their Class of 2022, Baer is likely the last offensive lineman that Pitt will take this year.
