Kenny Pickett Sets Pitt’s Single-Season Passing Yards Record

PITTSBURGH — Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett continued his assault on the program’s record book, as he set the team record for passing yards in a season in his team’s game against Virginia on Saturday.

Pickett broke Rod Rutherford’s record of 3,679 yards, which had stood since 2003. He broke the record with a seven-yard pass to Tre Tipton.

Pickett has already set the Pitt records for career total offense, career passing yards, career total touchdowns, career completions, season completions and single-game passing yards.

He finished the first half with 172 yards on 17 of 24 passing for 3,689 yards.
