Pitt Opens as Slim Favorite Over Michigan State in the Peach Bowl

If the New Year’s Six bowls live up to the hype, all six have the potential to be among the best college football games of the year. And the early betting lines expect the Peach Bowl to be among the best.

Pitt and Michigan State will clash in a Peach Bowl showdown of two teams with very, very different ways of getting by. Pitt is led by an electric passing attack while Michigan State thrives with a ground-and-pound mentality.

With a Dec. 30 showdown at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on the horizon, the early betting lines favor Pitt in a close win over Michigan State.

DraftKings has set Pitt as a 3.5-point favorite, with a bet against the spread in favor of Pitt holding -115 odds while the same for Michigan State holds -105 odds. A 63.5 point over/under is higher than most, with the over holding -105 odds while the under holds -115 odds.

A money line bet in favor of Pitt holds -190 odds while the same bet for Michigan State holds +160 odds.

FanDuel is slightly higher on Pitt, setting the Panthers as a four-point favorite. A bet against the spread for either side holds -110 odds. A 63.5 over/under carries over from DraftKings, with both options once again set at -110 odds.

A money line bet in favor of Pitt holds -176 odds while the same bet for Michigan State holds +142 odds.

Pitt has never won against Michigan State, going 0-6-1 dating back to 1945. Although, the last meeting hasn’t taken place since a 17-13 MSU win in 2007. The Spartans are 8-2-2 against the spread this season, failing to cover in two of the last four games played.
