Pitt Loses Out to Auburn For Florida 4-Star WR Camden Brown

Pitt’s Class 2022 takes a hit as they lose out on a big target that they were hoping to reel back in.
Florida 4-star wide receiver Camden Brown has announced that he’ll stay down South and take his talents to Auburn.

At one-time Brown was committed to Pitt but then de-committed in the last month after receiving a lot of late interest from major Power Five programs. It’s interesting that Brown de-committed from Pitt on December 1, the same day that he received a visit from the Auburn coaching staff. Despite this, Pitt continued to pursue him and believed that the early relationship they formed with him would be enough to get him to join their program but that didn’t happen.
Instead, Brown chooses to join Auburn, who’s already signed 4-star wideout Omari Kelly and 3-star wide receiver Jay Fair, who have been longtime Tiger commits.
Brown is a wide out that uses both his speed and his size (6’3″, 190) to make big plays. This season at St. Thomas Aquinas, he averaged 20 yards per reception and caught 7 touchdown passes in 9 games.
Pitt’s attention will now turn to trying to get a commitment from Akron transfer wide receiver Konata Mumpfield, who made an official visit this past weekend. However, it won’t be easy as Mumpfield is getting interest from a number of teams. Since transferring from Akron, Mumpfield has picked up offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville, Central Florida, Utah, Vanderbilt, Minnesota and Pitt.
