Former Pitt Star Justin Champagnie Scores Career-High for Toronto Raptors

Published

on

On Tuesday night, former Pitt standout forward Justin Champagnie scored a career-high 14 points in the Raptors’ win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Despite playing just 13 minutes, Champagnie played one of the most efficient games out of all of the Raptors in the victory. Champagnie scored those 14 points by going 5 of 6 from the field, including an excellent 4 of 5 from three-point range.

Towards the end of Champagnie’s college career, many people thought that he would not be able to carve out a role in the NBA because he was not the best three-point shooter, and was undersized. Now, Champagnie has shown that he has improved that facet of his game and can compete with the best of them.

The 6-foot-6 forward also grabbed three rebounds and blocked one shot in the win.

He’s really been making the most of his minutes the last few games.
