NEW YORK — During the first half of Tuesday afternoon’s opening game of the ACC tournament, Pitt guard Jamarius Burton scored his 1,000th point of his career on a three-point bucket.
Burton came into the game with 993 career points in a career spanning four seasons with three teams. Burton started his career at Wichita State, where he scored 530 points. Next came his one-year stint at Texas Tech, in which he scored 100 points in a lesser role.
This season for Pitt, Burton, coming into Tuesday’s game, had scored 363 points in 29 games.
Through one half of play, Burton has hit three of his five field goal attempts for a team-high eight points.
