Burton came into the game with 993 career points in a career spanning four seasons with three teams. Burton started his career at Wichita State, where he scored 530 points. Next came his one-year stint at Texas Tech, in which he scored 100 points in a lesser role.

Through one half of play, Burton has hit three of his five field goal attempts for a team-high eight points.
