After A Lot of Hard Work, 2023 Pennsylvania OT Nick Krahe Earns Pitt Offer

The accomplishments of Nick Krahe over the last year are all about perseverance and hard work.

One year ago, Krahe participated in Pitt’s prospect camp hoping to earn an offer but that didn’t happen.

However, Krahe didn’t pout instead, he used that as motivation and today he received the news that he was hoping for. The 6’5″, 280-pound offensive tackle from Erie found out that after his performance over the weekend at Pitt’s prospect camp, that he earned that offer from Pitt.

“I went down there last year and didn’t get much interest from Pitt, so, I changed myself over the summer and decided to go back this year and was hoping for more because I know that a lot of coaches do there to watch,” said Krahe. “I performed at a real high level and found out that I got the offer. I got the call from Coach Borbely and he kept bringing up how I changed so much from last year. He remembered working with me and told me how much I improved from last year.”

“Over the last year, I grew a lot, I put on about 30-40 pounds. I went to the gym every day, I started eating healthier, changed my craft and really became a better player. I was recommended to put on a little weight because I played last year at about 250 pounds and that wasn’t big enough to be a college lineman. I put on an extra 30 pounds and just really started working more. I went there trying to just get as much exposure as possible and obviously it worked because I got the offer.”

Today’s offer was the third Power Five offer for Krahe (Boston College and Maryland) but being a Pennsylvania kid, this one is different.

“This is a big offer,” said Krahe. “It’s obviously close to home and Pitt plays bigtime football.”

Krahe isn’t taking any time to get to know Pitt better as he tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he’s scheduled an official visit during the weekend of June 24-26. Krahe also tells me that he will make official visits to both Buffalo and Maryland.
