Prior to his arrival at the Elite 11 Competition in California, Pitt 2023 quarterback commitment Kenny Minchey was ranked as a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com, however, that is likely to change.
For three days, Minchey performed at an elite level and was named one of the Elite 11 Quarterbacks in the country following the competition.

Thanks to that performance in front of a field full of talent evaluators, Minchey in all likelihood will be elevated to 4-star status by all three national recruiting outlets.
At this point, On3 has Minchey as a 4-star player, as does 247 Sports Composite. However, Rivals and 247 Sports still have him as a 3-star recruit. Pittsburgh Sports Now is told that the next Rivals rankings update will be in August before the season starts.
Here’s an evaluation of Minchey from Adam Gorney, Rivals.com’s National Recruiting Director-
“There are 25 pro-style quarterbacks ranked in the 2023 class. Minchey is not one of them. But that will change during the next rankings cycle. The Pitt commit has an excellent physical frame, he was very impressive during the pro-day event and also shined at times on Tuesday night during the early drill work. We’ve now seen the list of pro-style quarterbacks at numerous events, and Minchey deserves to be on it for sure.”
Pitt’s Class of 2023 currently has 14 commitments and is ranked No. 29 by Rivals, No. 27 by 247Sports and No. 38 by On3.
