The Pitt basketball program has added another WPIAL product to this year’s roster, this time being Vason Stevenson, the former Montour standout.

Stevenson is a 6-foot-3 freshman who starred for the Spartans over the last four years. The McKees Rocks native dropped 23 points (11-for-16 FG) and eight rebounds in a close matchup against Quaker Valley in the Petersen Events Center last spring.

Stevenson is the son of Ron “Dunk-a-tron-Ron” Stevenson, who was a star 6-foot-6 center for Duquesne back in the 1980s.

The Panthers have added two new walk-ons to this year’s team, with KJ Marshall returning to the program and now Stevenson joining. Noah Jackson, a freshman walk-on on last year’s team, is no longer on the roster.
