On Friday afternoon, Houston (TX) prospect Jaland Lowe made his commitment official as he signed his National Letter of Intent with the Pitt Panthers.
Lowe was the third recruit to sign with the Panthers in the 2023 class, after Carlton Carrington (Baltimore, MD) and Marlon Barnes (Cleveland, OH) both signed on Wednesday. This three-man class ranks as the No. 21 recruiting class in the country, per 247 Sports.Â
Lowe, a four-star, 6-foot-1 point guard, is ranked as the No. 83 player in the country, per 247. Carrington, another four star, is a 6-foot-4 combo guard ranked as the No. 120 player in the nation. Barnes, the first player to commit in this class, is ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 192 overall player in the class. At the moment, this group is Jeff Capel’s highest-ranked class that he has brought in at Pitt. The five-man 2020 class, headlined by John Hugley and William Jeffress, ranked No. 31 in the country.
Duke is the lone ACC program ranked ahead of Pitt in terms of 2023 recruiting classes. The Blue Devils brought in five five-star recruits and own the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation.
