Duquesne sophomore wide receiver Abdul Janneh entered the transfer portal on Monday and since then, has received a slew of offers from FBS schools.
He played a total of three seasons for the Dukes, but most of his production came in this previous season. He led the team in receiving touchdown with nine in the 2022 season, while finishing in second with 579 receiving yards and 43 receptions.
Janneh’s best game for the Dukes came against the Youngstown State Penguins on Sept. 3. He caught a season-high eight receptions for 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Janneh also played a solid game against LIU where he caught seven passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns in the double overtime loss.
FBS schools noticed Janneh’s transfer decision immediately and sent in their offers for his services. Janneh announced, as of Monday, that 14 FBS schools offered him a scholarship for next season.
The most interesting offers that Janneh received are from four Power 5 schools. This includes ACC schools in Virginia Tech and NC State, Washington State in the Pac-12 and UCF who will play their football in the Big 12 starting next season.
He’s also received offers from seven Sun Belt schools in Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Coastal Carolina, Arkansas State, Appalachian State, Marshall and Old Dominion. He also got offers from a MAC school in Toledo, a Mountain West school in Utah State and a Conference-USA school in Charlotte.
With a 6-foot-3 frame and the ability to grab touchdowns using his size, more schools will come in for his talents, particularly more Power Five schools.
