The Duquesne Dukes front court will receive some help tomorrow afternoon when they host New Mexico State (4-3).

Pittsburgh Sports Now is told that 6’9” freshman forward Halil Barre will make his college debut tomorrow after being sidelined with a knee injury.

Barre will give the Duquesne front a presence with his massive 7-foot-4 wingspan. Barre thrives above the rim offensively and defensively and will give Keith Dambrot some rim protection.

In high school, Barre played for Scotland Campus in Pennsylvania, where he averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds during his senior season. Barre is originally from Benin, Africa.

Duquesne's 2024 March Madness Tournament coverage is sponsored by Leon's Billiards & More, Moon Golf Club and Archie's on Carson! Their contributions have allowed us to cover the Dukes run in Omaha, Nebraska. We appreciate their support!

The addition of Barre along with the return last game of Joe Reece gives Duquesne some much needed size and depth to their front court.

Duquesne will still be without forwards RJ Gunn (foot) and Kevin Easley (suspension).

Tip-off tomorrow from the Cooper Fieldhouse is set for 4 PM.
