Frank Cignetti Jr. has transformed Pitt’s quarterback room this offseason, adding Phil Jurkovec, Christian Veilleux and Ty Dieffenbach, and there’s a new addition to the room.

Lynch, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound recruit who played for Bishop Hendricken in Warwick, Rhode Island, originally received a PWO offer from Jon DiBiaso.
“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh. First, I want to thank God for everything he has done for my family and I. Second, I want to thank the coaching staff at Pitt for giving me such an opportunity to play football at such a high level, which has been a goal of mine for a while.
“I also want to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have helped e along my journey. Lastly, I want to especially thank my parents and brothers. H2P.”
Lynch guided IMG to a post-grad national championship this year, throwing for 231 yards and four touchdowns in the first half of the victory. Lynch accounted for over 20 touchdowns on the season, leading IMG to a 9-2 season.
He took his post-grad year at IMG after originally playing for Bishop Hendricken in Rhode Island. As a senior, he threw for 942 yards and nine touchdowns and added two more touchdowns on the ground.
Lynch is a big-framed quarterback with a strong arm and rugged athleticism.
Pitt currently has walk-on quarterbacks in Jake Frantl (Erin, Wisconsin) and Eli Kosanovich (Aliquippa, Pennsylvania). Former IMG post-grad Thomas Aden committed to Pitt as a PWO before last season.
The QB room seems a bit over-crowded now.
Patti gone, Yarnell probably gone and the others are walk-on or the kid from the west coast who will stay for a cup of coffee..the room isn’t crowded. duzz will stay with Phil all year as starter and then Veilleux is the next in line.
