Pitt has contacted yet another transfer in the portal here just a few days after its season came to an end.

On Tuesday, the Panthers contacted Mustapha Amzil, a 6-foot-9 forward who they recruited out of high school originally.

Amzil hails from Helsinki, Finland, the same hometown as Pitt’s Federiko Federiko. He played high-school ball for First Love in Western PA, and then played three seasons at Dayton before entering the portal on Tuesday. Amzil averaged 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game this season for the Flyers, shooting 44% from the field and 37% from three-point range (45-123).

Amzil told PSN that he has also heard from South Carolina, Utah State, SMU, DePaul, San Francisco, Memphis, and New Mexico on Tuesday. When asked about a potential visit to Pitt, he said, “Possibly, just started to communicate with the coaches again but still open.”

PSN has now confirmed five different transfers that the Panthers have contacted. See the list below.

Amzil plays no defense, he’s a liability at the college level, he has no future in pro ball. But let him dream.
