Since the end of its season, Pitt continues to show interest in bringing in transfer guards for next season.
Our partner The Portal Report tells us that Pitt has reached out to North Carolina transfer guard Dontrez Styles.
Styles (6’6”, 210) is a former four-star recruit from Kinston, North Carolina and became the 3rd Tar Heel to enter the transfer portal.
Styles just couldn’t find minutes in Hubert Davis’ rotation since joining them two years ago. This past season, Styles played in just 15 games and averaged 1.4 points in 5 minutes per game. Two years ago, he played in 30 games and averaged 2.0 points per game.
Since entering the portal, Styles has heard from Georgetown, Seton Hall, Maryland, South Carolina, Illinois, NC State, West Virginia, LSU, Providence, etc.
Back in 2021 when he was the No. 66 overall player, Styles picked North Carolina over other offers from Clemson, Georgetown, Maryland, NC State, Ole Miss, St. John’s, Texas A&M, VCU, Wake Forest and Pitt.
