Portal Report: Pitt, Duquesne, and RMU All Staying Active in the Transfer Portal
We are now two weeks past opening day of the transfer portal window in college basketball, and local programs Pitt, Duquesne, and Robert Morris are certainly staying active in the portal.
More than 1,000 division one players have already entered the transfer portal within the first 15 days of it being open, and all three staffs have been busy calling up recruits from all over in an attempt to bring them to Pittsburgh.
The Panthers’ staff has reached out to more than ten prospects in the portal, starting with Chris Ledlum (Harvard), Zack Austin (High Point), and Myles Stute (Vanderbilt) within days of the portal opening, and most recently reaching out to Joe Girard III (Syracuse) and DJ Horne (Arizona State).
As for the 13 confirmed players that Pitt has reached out to, nine made at least 40 three pointers this season, seven averaged at least 12 points per game, and two — Ledlum and Ball State’s Payton Sparks — averaged at least eight rebounds per game.

On Tuesday, Duquesne hosted St. Francis (PA) transfer Landon Moore for a visit.

Moore is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard out of Bloomington, Illinois who played one season for St. Francis. He shined in his lone year with the program, averaging 13.1 points and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 42% from the field and 36% from three-point range.
The Dukes have also recently been in contact with Buffalo transfer Yazid Powell, New Hampshire transfer Clarence Daniels, Queens (NC) transfer Jay’Den Turner, Winthrop transfer Toneari Lane, and others.
Andy Toole and his Robert Morris staff have also been busy this portal season, reaching out to prospects from all over.
