HOUSTON — On Thursday night, Pitt basketball guard Nike Sibande competed in the College Basketball Slam Dunk Contest as part of this year’s Final Four festivities.

Sibande started off the competition with a slam over the top of a spectator, earning the highest score, a 49, of any of the participants to advance to the second round.

In the second round, Sibande missed his first attempt at a Derrick Rose-esque two-handed reverse slam. However, he made his second attempt, a windmill off a self-thrown alley oop.

Sibande had one more shot in the semifinals, but missed his attempt, as he tried to hit the ball off the backboard then slam it in one motion. He then threw down another windmill to cap off his night in Houston.
