Pitt has reached out to another guard in the transfer portal, and this time one with a very familiar name to fans of the ACC: El Ellis.
Ellis told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he has heard from Pitt since entering the portal a few days ago. He also heard from Arkansas, NC State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Creighton, Oregon, Florida, Georgia, Clemson, Rutgers, Florida State, Seton Hall, Ohio State, and UCF.
Ellis, a 6-foot-3 guard, averaged 17.7 points and 4.4 assists per game this season for the Cardinals, earning all-ACC honorable mention honors.
Ellis scored a combined 26 points in two games against the Panthers this year. The Durham, North Carolina native began his career in junior college before playing each of the least two seasons at Louisville.
