Pitt’s Blake Hinson is currently going through the NBA Draft process, testing the waters and seeing what it takes to make it to the next level.

On April 21, Hinson announced that he would be entering the NBA Draft early entry process while retaining his college eligibility, releasing the following statement.

“I love the game of basketball and am constantly looking for opportunities to measure myself against top competition,” Hinson said. “By entering the NBA early entry draft process while retaining my eligibility to return to Pitt for my senior season, I can further test myself and receive additional feedback that will ultimately help make me a better player. I am excited about this opportunity and grateful for the support of Coach Capel and the Pitt basketball family.”

Hinson has one week left to make his decision, as the May 31 deadline to remove his name from NBA Draft consideration is approaching.

Before playing for Pitt this past year, Hinson spent two years with Ole Miss and also spent time with the Iowa State program. After spending two seasons away from game action, he jumped into a massive role for the Panthers in their best season under Jeff Capel.

Hinson recently showed off his talent at the Impact Basketball Pro Day, catching the eye of scouts.

“6’7 Pitt and All ACC junior Blake Hinson showed that he’s a straight up gamer once live actin started at @ImpactBBall pro day,” SLAM Magazine’s Rodger Bohn tweeted. “The well built forward shot the ball well from NBA 3pt range and was outstanding hitting cutters from perimeter. Still holds college eligibility.”
