Former Pitt defensive lineman Calijah Kancey has signed his rookie contract. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Wednesday that the organization has agreed to terms with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Kancey earned first-team All-American honors during his junior campaign at Pitt, compiling 7.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss in 11 games. His contract includes a fifth-year option exclusive for first-rounders. Spotrac projected the deal to be upwards of $15.5 million.

The 22-year-old defensive tackle became the first unanimous All-American in Panther history since future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald. He was selected to the first team by CBS Sports, Walter Camp, AP, American Football Coaches Association, Pro Football Focus, and Sporting News as well.

The Miami native returned to the sunshine state after totaling 16 sacks, 34.5 tackles-for-loss, and 92 tackles in 37 games. Kancey is already becoming acclimated to the Tampa Bay community in his new home.
