Mulcahy is a 6-foot-7 guard out of Bayonne, New Jersey, who recently entered the portal on June 9. Although he entered the portal late, Mulcahy has graduated from Rutgers so therefore will have immediate eligibility as a graduate transfer at his next school. He played four seasons in Piscataway, New Jersey, going from 18 minutes per game as a freshman to 32 as a senior. This past season, Mulcahy averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 assists per game while hitting 42% of his field-goal attempts.
Mulcahy’s late portal entry shocked the college hoops world. Immediately after entering, he heard from a handful of big-name programs including Kentucky, Michigan, Kansas State, West Virginia, and others.
The Panthers currently have one scholarship open after adding transfer guard Ishmael Leggett (Rhode Island), transfer wing Zack Austin (High Point), and freshmen prospects Jaland Lowe, Carlton Carrington, Papa Kante, and Marlon Barnes.
