Pitt freshman guard Jaland Lowe is already on campus, but is still receiving accolades for his tremendous senior season down in Houston.
Lowe was recently named to the Jordan Brand Classic Team, along with many other top prospects from around the country. He is the fourth Panther to earn this honor, along with Steven Adams (Class of 2012), Khem Birch (Class of 2011), and Levance Fields (Class of 2005) all were members of the Jordan Brand Classic Team as well.
The Fort Bend Independent School District Basketball Player of the Year, Lowe averaged 27 points per game this season for Fort Bend Marshall in Missouri City, Texas and led the team to a state runner-up finish. He also crossed the 2,000-point milestone in his career this season. The 6-foot-1 guard committed to Pitt on October 1, 2022, months after receiving an offer from the Panthers’ staff and visiting shortly after.
Lowe has been working in Pittsburgh for weeks along with his new back court mates in freshman Carlton Carrington, redshirt freshman Dior Johnson, and Rhode Island transfer junior Ishmael Leggett.
