It’s almost decision day for one of Pitt’s recent visitors.

After Mylachi Williams made his final official visit to Pittsburgh over the weekend, he announced on Twitter that he will be making his collegiate decision on July 8.

Williams — a 6-foot-5, 215-pound four-star defensive end from Monsignor Bonner in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania — made his official visit to Pitt from June 22-24, following official visits to Penn State (June 9) and Syracuse (June 16). He’s picked up offers from the likes of Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado, Duke, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

Williams hasn’t announced a list of finalists, but it’s a safe assumption that his list of official visits (Penn State, Pitt and Syracuse) shows where he is currently considering.

His relationship with Pitt really began back on Jan. 20 when the Pitt coaching staff extended him an offer, and obviously, the communication — and a Jan. 21 visit — has led to a chance for an extended stay in Pittsburgh.

It’s not hard to see why Charlie Partridge and Pitt’s coaching staff like Williams either, as he’s a long, explosive athlete who may be bookmarked for defensive end but could play almost anywhere across the football field.

As a junior at Monsignor Bonner last season, Williams racked up 50 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 11 sacks to help the Friars to a successful season out on the eastern side of the state.

247Sports rates Williams as the 331st-ranked recruit in the class (23-ranked edge and sixth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania) while On3 rates him as the 205th-ranked recruit in the class (16th-ranked edge and third-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania).

Rivals rates him as the 17th-ranked weakside defensive end and ninth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania — holding a 5.8 Rivals Rating.

While he’s made visits to Penn State, Pitt and Syracuse, it appears as though Penn State is in the lead for Williams’ services. Pitt does, however, have a chance in the race, but the coaching staff’s recruiting efforts may also be focused elsewhere.

Pitt currently holds commitments from four defensive linemen in the class of 2024, including four-star Jahsear Whittington, three-star Francis Brewu, three-star Zach Crothers and three-star Ty Yuhas.

And four-star defensive lineman Sincere Edwards just completed his official visit to Pitt while fellow four-star defensive lineman Dominic Kirks will be making his commitment decision on June 30.
