Last season, Samford went 21-11 and 15-3 in the Southern Conference. As part of its non-conference schedule last season, Samford took on Valparaiso, Louisiana Tech, Belmont, DePaul (lost in OT) and Central Florida (lost in OT).

Samford will not return a big portion of its offense from last season as three of its top four scorers will not return: Ques Glover (14.7 points), Logan Dye (13.3 points) and Bubba Parham (9.6 points). Samford has brought in several players from the portal this offseason, led by Alabama A&M transfer Garrett Hicks (6’0 G – 12+ PPG), Zach Loveday (7-footer – Baylor), and Rylan Jones (6’0 G – Utah State).

Duquesne has another non-conference game scheduled against Santa Clara on December 23 in Las Vegas.

The Broncos are members of the West Coast Conference and are coached by Penn Hills native Herb Sendek. Last season, Santa Clara had an overall record of 23-10, 11-5 in conference play and recorded wins over DePaul, Iona, New Mexico State, Boise State, California and BYU (twice).

Earlier, it was announced that Duquesne would take part in the Nebraska MTE, hosted by the Cornhuskers. Aside from a game against Nebraska, the Dukes will also play Rider and Stony Brook.

Duquesne finished last season 20-8 and 10-8 in the Atlantic-10 Conference. With many key players returning, including Dae Dae Grant and Jimmy Clark, Keith Dambrot’s team should be a contender this season in the A-10.
