It’s officially a game week for Pitt football, with the Wofford Terriers coming into town this weekend, and the broadcast information has been announced.
Pitt’s 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Acrisure Stadium will be broadcast on the ACC Network, with Mike Monaco handling play-by-play duties, and Forrest Conoly serving as his analyst. Alex Chappell will provide sideline reporting. It’s not exactly a well-known ACC Network crew, but it is a Week 1 non-conference game.
The Pitt radio broadcast remains unchanged, with the legendary Bill Hillgrove as the play-by-play announcer and Pat Bostick as his analyst. Larry Richert and Dorin Dickerson will once again provide sideline reporting.
It will be the first Pitt-Wofford matchup in either program’s history, but there are some ties to keep in mind. Former Pitt offensive coordinator Shawn Watson currently serves as the Terriers’ head coach, taking over for another former Pitt assistant (defensive coordinator Josh Conklin) who was let go after five games last season.
Wofford went 3-3 under Watson last season, with wins against the Citadel, East Tennessee State and VMI.
Wofford is Pitt’s lone FCS opponent this season, starting off the non-conference schedule before hosting Cincinnati on Sept. 9 and traveling to West Virginia on Sept. 16. Pitt’s fourth non-conference opponent is Notre Dame, with a game set in South Bend on Oct. 28.
