Bub Means Exits VT Game, Heads to Locker Room

Pitt wide receiver Bub Means.

BLACKSBURG, Va. — A pretty ideal start for Pitt offensively has quickly devolved into the same old stuff.

Bub Means caught a 75-yard touchdown in stride from Phil Jurkovec on Pitt’s first throw of the night, but he missed on seven of his next eight throws, the offense stalled and now Means has left the game and went into the locker room for an undisclosed injury.

Means caught one of his four targets, for the long touchdown, before leaving the game. It can be expected that Jake McConnachie and Kenny Johnson will receive more snaps should Means be unable to return to action.

Means has caught seven passes for 146 yards and a touchdown this season. And his rough stretch has only gotten worse.

Pitt currently trails Virginia Tech 14-7 late in the second quarter.

The offense is lethargic. No tempo, no hurry up. No trick plays. The players act like they don’t believe in the clown Cignetti and his hand picked qb.
