On Saturday, Pitt extended an offer to another guard in the class of 2025.
Akbar Waheed III, a 6-foot-6 guard/wing prospect out of the DMV, took an unofficial visit to Pitt over the weekend. On Saturday, he announced that while on the trip, Panthers’ head coach Jeff Capel offered him.
Waheed is ranked as a three-star prospect among the top 140 players in the nation, per On3. He also has offers from Maryland, Xavier, Penn State, Hofstra, Mount St. Mary, Boston College, Howard, and Albany. Ever since mid-June, Waheed has been in contact with the Pitt staff.
Waheed competes for Georgetown Prep as well as Team Durant on the Nike circuit in the summer. Waheed is the son of former Georgetown assistant coach Akbar Waheed II, who was on Patrick Ewing’s Hoyas staff.
In the class of 2025, Pitt has also offered Nate Ament, Adrien Stevens, Tyler Jackson, Kiyan Anthony, Jordan Scott, Darius Acuff, Derek Dixon, RJ Greer, and Meleek Thomas.
He needs a haircut. Discipline is a good thing. Letting them do whatever, is not.
