Pitt Basketball to Hold Open Practice to the Public Next Week

Pitt basketball will allow its fans to see the 2023-24 team up for the first time up close and personnel next week.

The Panthers announced Thursday the program will hold an Oakland Zoo Open Practice available to the public on Friday, Oct. 13, from 4-6 p.m. The two-hour event at the Petersen Events Center will feature practice beginning at 4 p.m. and scrimmage action at 5 p.m.

Doors open at 4 p.m., with the day featuring music, video highlights, Oakland Zoo t-shirts, and head coach Jeff Capel addressing the crowd in anticipation of the upcoming campaign.

Students can proceed through the Oakland Zoo entrance while general admission fans are asked to join the action through Concourse A. Oakland Zoo shirts will be handed out to students at the conclusion of practice. General seating is available in sections 107-109, and additional seating from 104-106 and 110-112.

Pitt won two games in the NCAA Tournament last year and looks to continue its journey as a program on the rise this season after shocking the ACC world with wins over Virginia, Miami and twice defeating North Carolina.
