Twitter Reaction to Pitt Basketball’s 71-64 Loss to Missouri

PITTSBURGH – Pitt basketball fell flat Tuesday night hosting Missouri in the ACC/SEC Challenge at the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers dropped to 5-2 overall following a 71-64 loss to the Tigers as Pitt never found a rhythm offensively.

Pitt missed six free throws, including two front ends of the 1-and-1 from Federiko Federiko. Jeff Capel’s team shot 34% for the game and 25% in the second half.

The loss set Twitter (X) ablaze after losing two of their last three.

I don’t want to see any silver linings, any positives. That is an unacceptable loss on our home floor. Cannot lose that game. Shot 25 more free throws than the other team and still managed to lose. Out-hustled. I’m embarrassed.

I’m more than a little surprised that Pitt has not made any adjustments on the defensive end to try and speed the game up, particularly given all of the ball screens. Shot selection continues to be a major issue as it was in New York.

Really disappointing showing from #Pitt 🏀 tonight. Missouri has shot well and that happens from time to time, but they've had more energy and beaten the Panthers in the physicality department. That's been the big difference.

This is a typical and bad resume loss for Pitt. I hate to point fingers but Leggett was not good in the second half and the defense was weak. Hard to win a game when you go 7 minutes without a FG. Just a shame.

Lost my favorite winter hat at practice, got home and realized too late the plumber screwed up the bathtub faucet he was supposed to fix and it leaked down 2 floors, Pitt lost and played very poorly, a good night I'd say.
