TJ Harvison arrived at Pitt just under a year ago, and it turns out that his time in Pittsburgh was a brief one.

Harvison, a second-year freshman from Carrollton, Ga. out of the class of 2023, entered the transfer portal Monday morning, according to AithELITE, the first day that underclassmen are officially able to do so.

Harvison enrolled early after signing his NLI last December, but he did not see the field during his true freshman season and seemed to take the backseat to fellow ’23 signee Montravius Lloyd.

The talented Georgia native will have four seasons of eligibility remaining at his next location.

Harvison was a late target by the Pitt coaching staff, his recruiting process heating up last December after he led Bowdon High to a Georgia state title. He committed to Pitt over the likes of Boston College, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State and Ole Miss.

Pitt will once again be led by Rodney Hammond Jr. in the running backs, as the rising senior announced he would return to Pittsburgh for his final season of eligibility, and the rotation behind should be new.

C’Bo Flemister exhausted his eligibility, and while Daniel Carter is likely still in place as a veteran option, Derrick Davis Jr. and Lloyd should work their way up the depth chart behind Hammond.

The Panthers also have two strong running back recruits in the class of 2024 in Juelz Goff and Yasin Willis, although neither has signed yet.
