Monday’s Best ESPN BET Bets: Wild-Penguins, Bradley-Duquesne, Eagles-Seahawks
Outside of the Bills covering and blowing out the Cowboys, we had a disappointing 1-2 day on Sunday. The cutlets of Tommy DeVito have turned cold, and he has reverted back to being another Duck Hodges knockoff. Jacksonville is a complete mess when they play a team with a pulse and could not help our Over in Ravens/Jaguars. We move to 48-44-2 on the year.
There is now a new sheriff for the lead odds for NFL MVP and that so happens to be Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy. Now, I know Purdy has had a great year, don’t get me wrong, but is he really the MVP of even his own team?
When the 49ers were missing both Deebo Samuels and Trent Williams, Purdy obviously struggled. And even when he was struggling, Christian McCaffrey was far and away the more important piece on the offense.
In my opinion, it should be McCaffrey getting Purdy’s MVP votes, not the other way around. There are still three weeks of the season left so it will be interesting how this plays out.

Minnesota Wild at Pittsburgh Penguins (-115) O/U 6 7:00 PM on SportsNet Pittsburgh
The Penguins came into Monday night’s game against the Wild thinking they were going to face an old friend in net, that being Marc Andre Fleury. Unfortunately, the Pens will not see Fleury in net, but a former Penguins prospect in net.
Former 2nd round pick Filip Gustavsson will get the start in net over Fleury Monday night. This could be the last time the Pens get a chance to see Fleury play in Pittsburgh, so it is very disappointing he will not get the start.
That being said, the Penguins should come into this game looking for retribution after their embarrassing loss to the Maple Leafs. Pens get the win tonight.

Bradley Braves vs Duquesne Dukes (-4) O/U 143.5 7:00 PM on ESPN+
The Duquesne Dukes head up to Akron, OH to play their annual game at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s, the former homes of both LeBron James and Dukes Head Coach Keith Dambrot. As many know, Dambrot served as LeBron’s high school head coach prior to becoming the coach of the Akron Zips.
In this special game, the Dukes are 4-0 in what can be deemed as the LeBron James Invitational. Duquesne will be looking to make it 5-0 against the Bradley Braves, who will be without one of their leading scorers Connor Hickman, who will be out with an ankle injury.
Look for the Dukes and Dambrot to put on a show in Akron and leave with a win and cover over Bradley.

Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5) at Seattle Seahawks O/U 45.5 8:15 PM on ESPN
The Eagles luck ran out on them over the past few games as they head to Seattle on a 2 game losing streak. This recent streak has caused Philadelphia to make a switch at defensive coordinator, where they have now put former Lions head coach Matt Patricia in charge of the defense.
Their biggest problem on defense is their pass coverage. This could be a problem no matter who is in at quarterback tonight for the Seahawks, whether that be Drew Lock or Geno Smith, who is a game time decision. Either way, expect Seattle to find the end zone through the air with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.
This game will be a close one. I have the Eagles winning by a short margin, but I see the Seahawks covering the 3.5 spread.
