“Excited to announce my commitment to the University of PITTSBURGH!!,” Sassic wrote in his commitment post on Twitter. “Thank you to all of my coaches, teammates, and supporters who have been apart of this journey. Thank you [Coach Sanders] for the opportunity!!”

Sassic starred at both wide receiver and cornerback for the Vikings in 2023. He made 28 catches for 536 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver, with his 59.6 receiving yards per game ranking third on the team. He also made two interceptions, second best on the team, 18 tackles, eight solo and one fumble recovery as a cornerback. Sassic received First Team All-Conference honors for his play this past season.

He is the first preferred walk-on to announce their commitment to Pitt football this offseason, as a member of the Class of 2024. He also becomes the second first-year from Pittsburgh Central Catholic, with three-star defensive lineman Ty Yuhas coming in on scholarship.

Sassic also joins redshirt sophomore tight end Matt Altsman as the other walk-on from Pittsburgh Central Catholic on Pitt, and redshirt junior defensive lineman Elliott Donald as the fourth player from the high school with the program.

Should try Caleb Williams at QB, he’ll want some NIL $$$.

No thanks. A tad over rated. USC replaced him with a freshman in their bowl game. 6 TDs I think. They didn’t seem to miss him. The offense seemed more efficient without Williams after a bumpy start. I hope the Browns draft him.
