Pitt Embracing the Transfer Portal This Offseason
It’s likely no coincidence that Pat Narduzzi has hit the transfer portal hard, reacting accordingly to a 3-9 record in 2023, his worst record during his head coaching tenure at Pitt.
The Panthers have been as active as they’ve ever been in adding players to their roster from the portal.
Credit must go to the preferred NIL collective, Alliance 412, because without a strong NIL team, the success that Pitt is having wouldn’t be possible.
When looking at the 12 additions to the roster, it’s very clear that Pitt didn’t target just depth players or ones that would only be here for a season as the vast majority of players added have multiple seasons of eligibility remaining.
Here’s a look at the 12 additions that Pitt has made and keep in mind, this number is likely to grow.
Pitt Offensive Additions
QB Eli Holstein (Alabama), four seasons of eligibility remaining.
WR Raphael Williams (San Diego State), two seasons of eligibility remaining.
TE Jake Overman (Oregon State), two seasons of eligibility remaining.
OL Lyndon Cooper (NC State), tw0 seasons of eligibility remaining.
WR CJ Lee (Western Carolina), two seasons of eligibility remaining.
RB Desmond Reid (Western Carolina), two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Pitt Defensive Additions
DT Nick James (Indiana), three seasons of eligibility remaining.
DE David Ojiegbe (Clemson), four seasons of eligibility remaining.
CB Tamon Lynum (Nebraska), two seasons of eligibility remaining.
DE Nate Matlack (Kansas State), two seasons of eligibility remaining.
LB Keye Thompson (Ohio), one season of eligibility remaining.

You would be too if the AD said your next to go!! We all know this is not the style of our hard nosed, it’s my way or the highway, egotistical head coach. Still one main problem hasn’t been addresses. His game day coaching!!
I think Narduzzi is showing his “style” by adapting to the game. Why try to turn something positive into something so negative. Ped state fan maybe?

Pretty sure next season’s games aren’t going to look anything like this season’s games (at least on the offensive side of the ball). Guess you can call that adapting to the game.
After an article summarizing the incoming transfers including a former four star top 150 recruit you comment on an egotistical head coach. I guess you should add con man to your list. Because recruits and their families have nothing but positive comments about Pat Narduzzi. What coach recruited Holstein to Pitt? Just figure whoever it was said “Nard, if I land this kid will you fire Salem and Borbely and let me hire their replacements instead of you?”
Interesting handle Toledo? I wonder if any of your Rockets assistants have been contacted? Got some good friends in Columbus area work out with, said they heard some conversations occurred with a couple Buckeye assistants. Bell heavily involved with Holstein. AD involved in keeping Partridge from leaving and Bell hiring. AD heavily involved in changing this program . Program needed major changes. Needed major upgrades in recruiting, and its coming hopefully in new assistants.
