Friday’s Best ESPN BET Bets: Panthers-Penguins, Michigan St-Wisconsin, Trail Blazers-Spurs

It was not a great night for the Winning Picks, going 0-3. We are better than that with the Winning Picks, I will own that. We moved to 119-85-3 on the year, still over a 57% win percentage.

What I find crazy about today’s age of betting is the number of future bets that can be offered that are complete hypotheticals. Like you can bet right now players from all 4 remaining teams to be Super Bowl MVP. So let’s say you bet Jared Goff to win Super Bowl MVP and they don’t make the Super Bowl. That will be a losing bet, and it didn’t even get a chance to cash.

Be very wary of these bets until you know exactly what teams are playing in these types of games. It can be the difference between making money and losing money.

Now onto the Winning Picks!

Florida Panthers (-135) at Pittsburgh Penguins O/U 6.5 7:00 PM on SportsNet Pittsburgh

The Penguins return home to PPG Paints arena to face defending Eastern Conference Champion the Florida Panthers. This will be the Panthers first trip to Pittsburgh this season, and it will be the first leg of a back-to-back for the Pens. Tomorrow night the Penguins face the Canadiens at home.

The Pens have risen to the occasion when facing some of the league’s best teams at home. They have already beaten the likes of Vegas and Colorado at home this season. I believe that trend can continue tonight and they get a win over the Panthers in an upset.

Michigan St Spartans at Wisconsin Badgers (-3.5) O/U 134.5 8:00 PM on FSI

Michigan St ends into Madison desperately needing more Quad 1 wins to help bolster their fledgling NCAA Tournament hopes. A win against Wisconsin would secure them one of those wins as they try and avoid being swept by the Badgers in the regular season series.

Last Friday, one of the Winning Picks was Wisconsin covering against Indiana. The Badgers have proven this season to be one of the most formidable teams out of the Big Ten not named Purdue (I think Purdue is overrated by the way).

As with last Friday, the Winning Pick tonight is the Badgers to cover. It will be a tough fought game, but Wisconsin will be too much for Michigan St.

Portland Trail Blazers at San Antonio Spurs (-3.5) O/U 230.5 9:30 PM on NBA TV

The top two picks in the most recent NBA Draft as Scoot Henderson and the Trail Blazers travel to San Antonio to face Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs. Though this has not been quite the season for San Antonio that Wemby would’ve thought he would have in his first season in the NBA, but he and the Spurs have been able to take care of the weaker teams in the league at home.

Both of these teams split their meetings earlier in the season when the Spurs played the Trail Blazers in back-to-back games in Portland. This will not be the case this time around, just one game tonight in San Antonio, their last meeting of the season.

Given the Spurs success at home, I like San Antonio to win and cover tonight versus Portland.
