We had the bounce back night we needed for the Winning Picks, going a perfect 3-0 Wednesday night. Both Pitt and the Pelicans were able to cover the spread while also winning outright as underdogs against North Carolina St and the Clippers. Duquesne may have lost as favorites, but their poor shooting night helped cover the under versus Davidson. We moved to 138-105-3 on the year.
As you know, I have been beating the drum on Travis Kelce for Super Bowl MVP even before he became the most bet individual to win the award. But did you know on ESPN Bet they have a whole section for just betting on Kelce in this game?
Under “specials” on the app, you will find at the bottom of the page the “Swelce Specials.” Any type of prop you want on Taylor’s boyfriend you can find here such as first touchdown, touchdown scorer, even crazy ones like Kelce to score 4 touchdowns at +10000! A $10 bet on that would win you $1,000! Granted, none of these bets are really “boasted” at all, but if you want to hammer the Kelce props, your one stop shop is on ESPN Bet.
Now time for the Winning Picks!
Green Bay Phoenix at Robert Morris Colonials (-2.5) O/U 137.5 7:00 PM on ESPN+
Everyday that there are sports to gamble on, you will always find at least one game that makes you sit back and think, “that doesn’t make any sense.” Green Bay at Robert Morris tonight fits that description. The Phoenix currently sit tied for first play in the Horizon league with Oakland but they find themselves an underdog on the road versus a RMU team that is just looking to salvage what is left of their last year in the conference.
The Colonials do have a win over a 15-9 Purdue-Fort Wayne team at home, but their other 4 wins in the Horizon are winning twice over IUPUI and Detroit Mercy, who are a combined 6-43 on the year. All 6 of those wins belong to IUPUI by the way.
The Phoenix defeated RMU at home back in late December by 17 points. Right now, Green Bay is playing some of their best basketball of the season and they are one of the most balanced teams in the conference. I believe that will loom large tonight and the Phoenix get a cover and win tonight in Moon Township.

Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Islanders (-140) O/U 6.5 8:00 PM on ESPN
If you blink too quickly, you might miss when NHL games are actually shown on regular ESPN. Tonight is one of those incidents where the Worldwide Leader in Sports will have a NHL game as the Lightning visit Long Island to face the Islanders. This will be the second leg of a back-to-back for the Lightning, losing to the Rangers last night, while the Islanders won their first game back off the All-Star break on the road in Toronto.
Both of these sides are fighting for Wild Card spots. Tampa holds the first spot while New York trails the Red Wings by 4 points for the last spot. I believe tonight will be a very tight, close game between two teams fighting for playoff positioning. Tonight’s Winning Pick here is the under.

Denver Nuggets (-3.5) at Los Angeles Lakers O/U 230.5 10:00 PM on TNT
With a wild and wacky NBA Tradeline taking place today, a lot of spreads will change given the moves being made. In this game tonight in Los Angeles, a defending champion has not made any moves yet while a former champion has already told reporters they are not making any moves today despite the Lakers losing Jarred Vanderbilt for an extended period.
This is surprising for the Lakers, who are barely treading water above the last spot in the play-in game for the Western Conference playoffs. The Nuggets, on the other hand, are sitting pretty at the top of the West. These two haven’t played since Opening Night of the season, a lot has changed since then, but like in that first game of the season, Denver comes out on top with a win and cover over the Lakers.
