In one year with Robert Morris, Markeese Hastings made an immediate impact and was honored for it as he was named to the All-League Third Team in the Horizon League.

Transferring into Robert Morris from Western Michigan, Hastings started in all 30 games, while leading the Colonials with 14.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in 30.6 minutes of work per night. He also notched a team-high 22 blocks during the season.

His work defending the glass also ranked third within the Horizon League behind Youngstown State’s DJ Burns (10.8 rpg) and Wright State’s Brandon Noel (8.0 rpg).

The power forward was a highly-efficient scorer for the Colonials, converting at a 54.2 percent clip from the floor, fourth-highest in the conference.

The 6-foot-7 graduate senior orchestrated nine double-double performances. Hastings hit double figures in points in all but eight contests.

Hastings recorded a career-high 31 points in an overtime win against Detroit Mercy where he also broke a school record by going 17 for 17 at the free-throw line.

The most memorable play of his lone season with RMU undoubtedly was his overtime buzzer beater against Purdue Fort Wayne the game prior to his career-best performance.
