Pitt has been prioritizing Class-of-2025 4-star guard Derek Dixon for a while now.
Dixon will take an official visit to Pitt from April 12-14, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.
He has taken numerous trips up to Pitt since Panthers’ assistant Milan Brown and the rest of the staff started recruiting him. Dixon was in attendance for Pitt’s home contest on Jan. 19 against No. 11 Duke.
Pitt was Dixon’s first high-major offer and was the first school that he visited.
Dixon is a 6-foot-3 combo guard who is ranked as a four-star prospect in the class of 2025 by 247 Sports. He is the No. 77 overall player in the class, per the site’s composite rankings, and is the No. 2 player in DC.
The junior is having a strong season for Gonzaga College High School, leading the team to a 22-4 overall record and 10-2 in conference play so far.
Following the visit to Pitt, he will take a trip to Virginia from April 20-22.
In addition to Pitt and Virginia, he holds offers from Villanova, Miami, West Virginia, Cal, Mississippi State, Iowa, Penn State, Syracuse, Maryland, Providence, Saint Joe’s, East Carolina, George Washington, George Mason, and others.
